REPLICATE PROJECT

Focusing upon improving and aiding manufacturing and modelling skills, the brief was to produce a visual replica of a computer mouse. Although, it did not need to function, it was challenging to make it aesthetically virtually indistinguishable from the original.

Prior to spray painting, jelutong was used to form the main body of the mouse, whilst vacuum formed plastic and acrylic were used for details. The mouse produced had a high quality finish and was an effective replica, however the curve of the main body could have been more accurate.

As a result of this project, my modelling skills greatly improved, allowing me to produce well made and finished pieces to demonstrate future design proposals.
