A lampshade's primary purpose is to shield the user from the bright bulb inside. For adults, this may be all they desire but children want something more interactive. Constellations always seem to fascinate children, the variety of shapes and the stories they tell. With this in mind, I wanted to combine this fascination with a feasible product.

By using two layers of polypropylene, children were able to have their own night sky on their ceilings. The inner layer features only the star formations, allowing pinpricks of light to be cast all around with the outer layer depicting the shapes and names of each constellation.
