Persuading a child to work can be difficult particularly when the alternatives are much more appealing. But if the work space they have is stimulating, with bright colours implying a fun element, then the whole situation switches from something dull to enjoyable.

Designed during AS level, the flat-pack desk pairs the natural grain of plywood against bright orange acrylic culminating in an eye-catching product. With angular shapes inspired by the Art Deco movement, it is easy to assemble, giving children a space of their own.
